Innocence

This film clip represents teenagers as innocent as the mid shot allows for the audience to see the facial expression and body language of the characters , in this shot the "victim" character is being confronted by three aggressors. This plays out as innocence as the character has a worried and scared facial expression and the over shoulder shot shows the other characters towering above and looking down upon the "victim" playing out the roles of aggressor and victim. The loud costume -mise en scene - of the aggressors - bright red hoodie , the red could connotate danger and the hoodie could relate to the typical stereotype that "hoodies" are bound to cause trouble - contrasts to that of the victim who is in school uniform this suggests also that the victim is innocent. Also the fact that the aggressors command more of the foreground in size and numbers and the "victim" has less screen space which could also symbolize he's innocence.
Another way the audience would be able to see the victimized character as innocent is by the way the body's are positioned on screen the character playing out the role of the victim has his body position straight towards the screen which could be interpreted as being venerable to the audience and the perpetrators are turned at a 3/4 degree angle which could be perceived as the director warning that the characters are dangerous. This is backed up by the dialogue - diegetic - which confirms the idea that the boy in the school uniform is innocent "come on let me pass dred , please." The use of this colloquial language "dred" gives the audience an idea that the "victim" character is out of place with the aggressors, as we can contrast it with the dialogue and tone of the characters words - which is soft toned and the use of colloquial language is limited "you know I love you, yeah I said love".

Intimidation

In this video clip teenagers are being represented as intimidators throughout the clip , there are two main shots where this is strongly evident one is a mid close up - where the audience can get intimate with the character - and it is evident that the "victim" is scared and worried about the event that has happened before , in this clip you can also make out the figure of the "intimidator" in the background. This shot is used so the audience can see the blurred figure of the "intimidator" in the background this adds to the sense of intimidation as the " intimidator " is blurred this conveys the sense that the "victim" is being followed this blurring of the "intimidator" also informs the audience of forth coming danger. The other is a mid close up shot where the focus is on the the facial expressions of the characters this shot makes it clear who is playing the roles of "intimadator" and who is playing the role of "victim" again it is evident that the intimadators are looking down upon the "victim" character, beliitiling his character - to fit with the sterotypically passive view taken on "victim" characters. The "intimadator" also again has dominance in the frame - in the size of them in the frame and also in the ratio between "intimadators" and "victim"- which contrats to when the auidence first sees the "victim" character where he is the single body in the frame. We also see the trend of the "victim" character convaying this sence of vurabilaty by being put straight in front of the camera and the "intimadators" being put at an angle to suggest that they will take up the role of intimidator.

Another way the director has put portrayed this sense of intimadation is by the motivated shot used on the the "witness" character this convays to the auidence that an injustice has occurred - through her shocked response - which may be as a result of the intimadation which was evident earliar in the clip. This is also when the audience realizes the full extent of the intimidation which has taken place. This is backed up by the deep toned instrumental - non diegetic - which follows it which adds to the sense of tension and this helps the idea intimidation and injustice which has proceeded this intimidation.

The director also uses medium shots in this scene to show the setting - council estate - this also adds to the atmosphere as it is also stereotyped that situations such as the one played out in the clip featuring young black males in this surrounding are inevitable and regularly occur. The director at this moment also uses a tracking shot to great effect as he uses it to quicken the pace of the scene and this contrasts to the slower pace of the tracking shots used earlier in the clip , the quickening of the scene adds to the tense atmosphere and to the sense of being hunted or followed by the "intimidators".
